When salt is added to water, salt solution is formed by the process of diffusion but when salt is in contact with air it's particles do not get into the molecular spaces between air particles. But air particles move more rapidly than water particles and there is more intermolecular space between the air particles than the water particles. Why does thi happen ?

Answer:in water, salt dissosciates into its constituent particles.

water is known as the universal solvent.

as both salt and water are polar, salt dissolves in water.

in the case of air,it is not a solvent for a solute
