When same quality of heat is supplied to different substance, the rise in temperature may not be same .why

Its depends upon the nature of materials.
Like if you give 100°C to water, it starts boiling but if you give the same temperature to alcohol it totally evaporates bcz it's much higher than its boiling point that is 78°C..
Same case with semi conductors and insulators...if you give a specific heat to semiconductor it starts behaving like conductors but if you give same heat to insulator it remains insulator not a conductor.
