When studying the relativity theory the said the concept of universe is having the limit. my doubt is what is universe in this sense? it is space or the matters in space? Also whether the space bends because of the gravitation or by bending the space the gravitation occurs.

HEY!!

The universe is the collection of matter, energy, planets, galaxies and the inter-galactic space. We cannot say whether the universe is limited or not. The observable universe is a spherical volume centered on the observer, regardless of the actual shape of the universe.
According to general relativity, the curvature of the space-time causes gravitation. The space-time is curved with matter and energy.

here is your answer
============≠≈====
Einstein's theory of general relativity predicted that the space-time around Earth would be not only warped but also twisted by the planet's rotation. ... In it, he determined that massive objects cause a distortion in space-time, which is felt as gravity.
