Three years ago-

rica' s age = (x-3) years

Dandy's age = (y-3) years

A.T.Q.

x-3 = 3 (y-3)

x-3 = 3y-9

x-3y = -6...............eq.1

Now, Three years hence -

Rica's age = x+3

Dandy's age = y+3

A.T.Q.

x+3 = 2 (y+3)

x+3 = 2y + 6

x-2y = 3 ..............eq.2

Now, solving both equations.

We get,

x = 21 and y = 9

So,

Present age of Rica is 21years.

and

Present age of Dandy is 9years.
