When the magnitude of deviation of cathode rays in discharge tube is more?
1) Magnitude of charge of the particle is more.
2) Greater interaction with the electric or magnetic field.
3) Less mass of the particle.

Answer:
When the charge is more, than, the presence of magnetic field inside the discharge tube, which is perpendicular to the path of the electron beam, the deflection of the cathode rays (which is also called electron beam) increases. Thus, we can say that interaction of magnetic field with cathode rays increases the deflection of cathode rays. If particles have less mass then the inertia is less, hence, there would be more deflection of cathode rays when they interact with the magnetic field.
