Let the fraction be n/d

If numerator is increased then,

/(n+4)/d  =  n/d +2/3

(n+4)/d   =   (3n+2d)/3d        [By cross multiplication]

3dn + 12d = 3dn + 2d^2  

12d = 2d^2        [Divide both the side by d]

12 = 2d

d = 6
