Solution

Given ,

  • the numerator of a fraction is increased by 4 .
  • the fraction increased by 2/3

To find,

  • we have to find it the denominator of the fraction .

So ,

  • Let the fraction be X/y .

  • Now , as it is increased by 4 so the equation will be : x+4/y
  • as it is increased by 2/3 the fraction will be ; 2/3 + x/y

Now , when we use both equation we get ;

=> X+4/y = 2/3 + X/y

  • solving this we get ;

=> X+4/y -X/y = 2/3

=> 4/y = 2/3

=> y = 4×3/2

=>y = 12/2

=> y = 6

The denominator is 6 .
