Hi was hoping to get some help with this problem I cant picture the actual problem.
A glass sphere 5 cm in diameter has a small scratch on its surface. When the scratch is viewed from a position directly opposite where does the scratch appear and what is its magnification? Assume n= 3/2 for glass.
Im not sure whether this means So=0 for the distance through air? I really cant picture this problem any help would be much appreciated

Measure the size of the scratch and the size of the image of the scratch..then use the formula,
Magnification= size of image/size of object..
Your question is not really precise sorry I cant help u more than this.
