Given : When there is no wind, an aeroplane travelling from Hyderabad to Delhi takes 2 hours.

when the wind is continuously blowing in the direction opposite to the path of the aeroplane, the flight takes 3 hours.

the distance from Hyderabad to Delhi is 1260 km,

To Find : the wind speed?

Solution:

distance from Hyderabad to Delhi is 1260 km,

Time taken when no air = 2 hrs

Speed = Distance / Time

Speed of aeroplane when no air  =  1260 / 2  =  630 km/hr

Time taken when  air  in opposite direction = 3  hrs

Speed of aeroplane when   air in opposite direction  =  1260 / 3  =  420 km/hr

Speed of aeroplane when   air in opposite direction  = Speed of aeroplane when no air - Speed of air

=>  420  =  630  -  Speed of air

=>  Speed of air  = 210 km/hr
