When to semiconductor of p and n type are brought in together they form a p-n junction which acts like?

P-n junctions are formed by joining n-typeand p-type semiconductor materials, asshown below. Since the n-type region has a high electron concentration and the p-typea high hole concentration, electrons diffuse from the n-type side to the p-type side.
