When trees are cut down, the soil becomes infertile or unfit for cultivation.

Such extreme situations arise due to continuous deforestation or farming in one peice or area of land as the soils fertility is tampered with more frequently.

It takes a lot of time to regenerate the soil's fertility and thus, with continuous cutting of trees, the soil loses its fertility.
