When two bodies move uniformly towards each other , then the distance between them decreases by 8m/s. If both the bodies move in the same direction with the same speeds, then the distance between them increases by 4m/s. What are the speeds of two bodies?

Answer:

Let the speed of the bodies be x and y

When the two bodies moving uniformly towards each other,

x + y = 8 ....... (1)

and, when the bodies move in the same direction with the same speeds,

x - y = 4 ..... (2)

Solving (1) and (2)

x = 6 and y = 2

The speed of the bodies is 6 m/s^2 and 2 m/s^2

Hope it’s help.
