when two bodies move uniformly towards each other ,then the distance between them decreases by 10 metre per second. when both the body is moving in same direction with the same speeds, then the distance between them increases by 4 metre per second. find the sweets of two bodies ​

solution

lets take the two velcity of bodies as Va and Vb respectively..

the formula of relative velocity is Va - Vb

1: given that Va - (-Vb) = 10 m/s

why - Vb ? because the two velocities moving opposite to each other.

Va -(-Vb) = Va + Vb = 10

2: given Va - Vb = 4m/s

adding these two equations

2Va = 14

therefore Va = 7
