The Gandhi Irwin pact was signed between Mahatma Gandhi and lord Irwin, the then viceroy of India on 5th march 1931.

Proposed conditions of this pact were:

 1. Discontinuance of civil disobedience movement.

 2. Participation by the inc in the second round table conference.

 3. Withdrawal of all ordinances issued by the government of India imposed on activities of inc

  4. Release of prisoners arrested for participating in the civil disobedience movement

  5. Removal of tax on salt, which allowed the Indians to produce, trade, and the sell salt legally and for their own private use.
