The 1857 revolt was planned against company Raj.The reason of revolt was the the use of new cartridge which was covered with a greased paper.The grease,applied on the paper,was made of animal fat.Both Hindu and muslim soldiers did not want to use the new cartridge as it has to be bitten at one end prior to its use
