Answer:

3/10

Step-by-step explanation:

lets suppose the fraction is p/q

when we add 2 to numerator

we get 1/2

i.e p+2/q = 1/2

upon cross multiplication we get

2(p+2) = q

2p + 4 = q ________i

Also when we add 2 to denominator we get 1/4

i.e p/q+2 = 1/4

upon cross multiplication we get

4p = q +2

or

4p -2 = q ________ii

substituting q from first in 2nd we get

4p -2 = 2p + 4

4p - 2p = 4 +2

2p = 6

p = 6/2 = 3

when P is 3 q is 4×3 - 2 = 10

Hence the fraction is

3/10
