On adding potassium iodide solution in a lead nitrate solution we get the products Lead iodide and potassium nitrate.Of these the yellow lead iodide is the precipitate formed since it is insoluble.The balanced chemical equation for this reaction is:
Pb(NO₃)₂ + 2KI = PbI₂ + 2KNO₃
Thus this reaction is a double displacement reaction.
