Our ear is divided into 3 parts
1) External ear
2) Middle ear
3) Inner ear
The external ear provides passage for the sound to enter the middle ear.The middle ear has an eardrum that vibrates when the sound reaches it. The vibration of eardrum causes the three bones (hammer, anvil, stirrup) to vibrate. These vibrations are carried to inner ear. The inner ear has cochlea filled with fluid and has nerve endings. The fluid starts vibrating thus activating the nerve endings.The nerve endings release an impulse that is carried to the brain by auditory nerve. The brain perceives the sound only then we can hear the sound
