When we mix quick lime and water,slaked lime is formed and energy is released....so why hissing sound is observed???????


gdfvirx: when we mix those stuff energy is realesd that energy heats the water up to its boiling point and water starts to boil and thàt produce a sound like hissing u can observe this sound when u boil water in ur house .

When Calcium oxide reacts with water, leads to the formation of calcium hydroxide, due to this, a lot of energy is liberated in this reaction, and this energy liberates in the form of boiling water that causes the hissing sound, a high amount of energy loss makes this reaction exothermic.
