The swaying of objects beyond the fire is observed because the air near the fireplace is hotter than the surrounding air ,the hotter air is lighter (less dense) than the cooler air surrounding it,and hence the refractive index of hotter air is slightly less than the cooler air ,as the physical condition of the medias are not stationary ,the apparent position of objects as seen through the hot air fluctuates and wavering or swaying is observed as a result of atmospheric refraction.

HEYA MATE HERE U GO
when the light rays comes out from the campfire and enter into atmosphere.
. due to fluctuations in refractive index of atmosphere the reaction and deviation becomes irregular.
. due to above result the objects beyond the fire seen swaying
