If we apply force and throw a ball upward then by the powerful force applied by a person will help the ball to go to only a certain height only.
Then after reaching at certain height , the ball will fell a loss in energy and it will start coming down at fast speed.

The speed of the ball decreases with time,then at the highest point ,the vertical component of velocity becomes 0.
Then the body starts accelerating due to g and hits the ground with v =√(2gh).
Change in velocity is generally given by: v-u=gt.
