=> 5x=x-1 ( by crossing )

=> 5x -x= -1

=> 4x = -1

=> x= -1/4 ( now put the value of x = -1/4 in x^2-1/x^2)

=> (-1/4)^2-1 / (-1/4)^2

=> 1/16 - 1 / 1/16

=> 1-16/ 16 / 1/16

=> - 15/16 / 1/16

=> -15/16 * 16

=> -15 ( 16 to 16 get cancelled)
