The gas is CO2.
NAHCO3+CH3COOH-----> CH3COONA+H2O+ CO2^
STEPS-
take NAHCO3 in a test tube and add 2ml acetic acid.
CO2 gas is evolved with brisk effervescence.
Pass the gas through freshly prepared lime water , it will turn milky.
