  • Since you are sitting inside the plane ,you are in contact with surface of plane and your as a result in your frame of reference the plane would seem to be stationary and rest of things would be seemingly moving.
  • But from the point of view of an observer standing on ground, you and your plane would seem moving.
  • The point is everything is moving but it depends upon frame of reference chosen.
  • There is no absolute rest ,as was sometime postulated by Sir Issac  Newton but later turned out to be false by Sir Albert Einstein.
  • This is relativity.
  • Same phenomenon can be observed while sitting inside a moving train, the train would appear to be stationary and rest of things outside your window would seem to be running in backward direction.
