I am getting salary in cash. What kind of salary proof can i provide to companies, where i will be looking for jobs in future?

No company is authorized to pay more than Rs.20,000/- in cash. For regular payments like salary etc., the company has to compulsorily deposit the salary in your bank account; otherwise they are liable for punishment.

Is your company contributing towards Provident Fund. If yes, you will get a statement from the Regional Provident Fund Office every year mentioning the contributions received from your employer and your deductions. This can be treated as proof of employment.

Your company is statutorily required to remit Professional Tax after deducting the same from your salary to Municipal Authorities. Get hold of a copy of these credits that will act as proof of employment.

Salary of Rs.3.60 lakhs per annum attracts income tax that your company needs to deduct from your salary and remit to IT Office before 5th of next month. This is a legal obligation and failure will result in imprisonment of Employer and penal action on employee for non payment. Get a copy of tax credits your company makes every month to IT Authorities and treat it as proof of employment.

Payment of Income Tax is applicable to propriety firms, small sized partnership firms, private limited and all types of companies.

Edit: Government has made it mandatory for all employers to pay salary by cheque or direct transfer to bank account of employee and NOT by cash for any amount.90% of times salary given in cash is not considered a valid proof as trust issues pop up in the minds of HR's or employer. But this can be sorted out by any one of following-

Option 1 — if you have a proper offer letter duely stamped from ex employer wherein your salary bifurcation is clearly mentioned, it can work if approved after a verification by the new employer.

Option 2 — You can approach your ex employer and request him to give a letter mentioning about your salary structures and mode of payment. (In case you have not absconded.)I am getting salary in cash. What kind of salary proof can i provide to companies, where i will be looking for jobs in future?

Hope this helps. All the best with your job search.

Salary slip you can provide salary slip as a proof of CTC.

You do not need salary slip at the time of interview, if you are offered a job then they may ask you for submission/verification of documents such as salary slip, work experience, last companies offer letter etc.

If you are going to accept the offer then resign from your company and ask for all these documents.

Also if possible you can keep email of new companies HR person as BCC in resignation email,
