when you use universal indicator,you see that solutions of different acid produce different colours. indeed , solutions of the same acids witb different concentration will also give different colours. why?

The most commonly used indicator is litmus which is extracted from lichens. It turns into red colour when its in contact with an acid. It doesn't change its colour when its in contact with a base. It doesn't change its colour when its in contact with an acid.

These different colours gives us the idea of the pH value of any solution.when it has less concentration,it will be less acidic.
