This is due to thr phenomenon known as ..' DIFFUSION'...
You know that the particles of matter are continuously moving and thry have spaces between them , so whenever the particles of food get entangled between the particles of air, then , they also move with them freely ..
The particles of food and the particles of air mix , up and this process is called diffusion ..
Thus , after mixing with each other , the particles spread all over the house ..and we are able to smell it ..

Answer:

Concept:

Diffusion is the movement of anything from a higher concentration to a lower concentration region. A gradient in Gibbs unlimited energy or biochemical potential drives diffusion. As with spinodal decomposition, it is feasible to diffuse "uphill" from a lower concentration region to a higher concentration region. The notion of diffusion is used in many fields, including physics (article diffusion), chemistry, biology, sociology, economics, and finance (diffusion of people, ideas, and price values). The basic principle of diffusion is the same in all of them: a substance or group that is undergoing diffusion stretches out through a place or area where it is concentrated more.

Given:

You can smell your mother's cooking from across the house. why?

Find:

find why When your mother cooks food you can smell the food across the house.

Answer:

Diffusion is the answer.

Because of the mechanism of diffusion, the fragrance of cooking food can reach us even from a great distance.

  • The movement of molecules from a location where they are clustered close together to a position where they are less concentrated or farther apart is a suitable approach to define diffusion.
  • Diffusion appears to come to a halt when molecules are uniformly distributed.
  • Diffusion allows smells to travel through the air. Some molecules depart the food as it cooking due to the constant movement of molecules. The surplus heat from the oven is evacuated through them.
  • These small food molecules move through the air to our noses as we walk around the house.
