CFCs are generated mostly from Air conditioners and Refrigerators due to the Coolants which are added into them like Chloroform, Trifluoroethane etc..
However, CFCs discharged in the lower part of atmosphere moves upward and reach stratosphere. In stratosphere, UV race act on them releasing chlorine atoms. Cl degrades Ozone releasing molecular oxygen, with these atoms acting merely as catalysts. Hence, whatever CFCs are added to the stratosphere, they have permanent and continuing effects on ozone levels. this causes the UV radiation of wavelength shorter than UV-B, which are almost completely absorbed by the earth's atmosphere given that the Ozone Layer is intact. This causes itching of skin damage to skin cells and various type of skin cancers. In human eye, inflammation of cornea, cold snow blindness, cataract, etc. Such exposure may permanently damage the Cornea..
