Fimbriae location and it's function

Step by step explanation:

  • The fimbria is a finger like projection around the ostium of the fallopian tube, facing towards the ovary. It does not touch the ovary but hover above it.
  • The function of fimbriae is during ovulation when an ovum is released from the ovary, it is released into the peritoneal cavity.  This ovum is catch up by cilia of the fimbriae and moved forward into the fallopian tube

Ans) Fimbriae is the last part of the fallopian tube in female reproductive system.

  • Function :- It is finger like projection which is use to collect ovum when it is released from the ovary.
  • Fallopian is the long tube like structure and internally lined by ciliated columnar epithelium tissue. Part of fallopian tube near ovary is known as infundibulum and it has finger like projections known as fimbriae.
