Phosphorous is mainly derived from rock phosphate. In India, rock phosphate is found in Singhbhumi and Vishakhapatnam in limited quantity. Most of it is important. As high quality phosphorous mines are being depleted, recycling gains importance and developed countries explore new technologies for Phosphorous recycling. The countries with the most phosphorous deposits are in the US, China, Russia, Brazil and India.
