The Duck feels sorry for himself as his own life is a bore in the nasty pond. The Duck wishes if he could hop like the Kangaroo and would go out in the world beyond.
So, he requests the Kangaroo for a ride in it's back. The Duck also promised the Kangaroo that it would sit quite still and wouldn't say anything apart from a "Quack".
