The 1st session of Constituent Assembly was held on December 9, 1946. Initially, Dr. Sachidanand Sinha was elected as the temporary President by J.B Kripalani. The assembly was constituted to frame the Constitution of free India. Several committees were constituted under the Assembly. Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the 1st President of Constituent Assembly. The Constitution of India was delivered by the Constituent Assembly on 29th November 1949. The 1st President of India was also elected by Constituent Assembly on January 24, 1950.
