eg in house fly and cockroach..

Ommatidia is found in the compound eyes of arthopodas like insects.

Compound eyes are characteristic feature of Arthropods.

Ommatidia is basic structure like nephrons in kidney which forms compound eyes.

In a cockroach each eye has 2000 hexagonal ommatidia.Ommatidia helps in receiving several images of an object which is mosaic vision with more sensitivity but less resolution.
