Explanation:

Blood cells include mostly red blood corpuscles which also circulate through the Speen. The spleen contains specialised cells which break down the RBCs, which contain haemoglobin made up of protein and iron. Iron is stored as ferritin and transferin in the liver for future manufacture of haemoglobin.
