lichens usually grow on rocks, walls, gravestones, roofs, exposed soil surfaces, and in the soil. Some of them adapt to survive in some of the most extreme environment of the earth

=> lichens are almost found everywhere. They can survive in different environmental conditions. they are found on top of mountains, arctic region, antarctic region et cetera.
★now what are lichens?
ミ when two organisms function together they form a single organism or what we can say is they are living in a symbiotic relationship in which they mutually benefit each other.
ミThe two organisms which form Lichens are fungus and algae or cyanobacteria. see picture for help.
ミ lichens are of many types. they may have different shapes and sizes. they also have different colors ( depending on the water present )
ミ lichens reproduce asexually by forming spores.
ミ these spores are tiny reproductive bodies which develop when they get in contact with nutrition and moisture.
