Blood absorbs the oxygen in the small organelles also known as Alveoli (singular name is Alveolus).

These are present in the lungs. Carbon dioxide is dissolved in the blood, as it comes back into the capillaries back into the air sacs.

Blood with fresh oxygen is distributed throughout the body.
