The red soil is found in regions such as Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, some parts of Karnataka and southeastMaharashtra. Alluvial Soil: Alluvial soils is are formed by the deposits of the sediments brought by rivers.

Alluvial soil is deposited by rivers as silt. it is most expensive in the Indo- gangetic and Brahmaputra plains. The older alluviam is known as 'Bangar' and the new alluviam as 'Rhadar'. These soils are very fertile and sustain India's granaries.
