we can identify that whether they are monocot or dicot by the following :-
* according to the cotyledon present in them
* venation is parallel or recticulate
*from their examples
*whether they have fibrous root system or top root system
*according to the number of petals contain in them.

cotyledons dry and is removed when seed becomes into seedling.

monocot is with one cotyledon and dicot with two cotyledons
