where the lithium is kept? why?

lithium is stored in mineral oil. All alkali metals r kept under oil to prevent them reacting with O2 and H2O vapour in the air

lithium is stored encased in paraffin wax because it is extremely reactive to the moisture in the air, much like sodium and potassium.
