‘Where the teacher’s cane failed, my sympathetic approach yielded results.’ It was not uncommon to see children being subjected to corporal punishment earlier. Do you think it was relevant in these times?
Answers
Teachers can also use corporal punishment to enforce discipline, although that deontological and theological approach to theological ethics is taking place quickly.
They are afraid to physically punish their children, others do not know what to do, yet others. It has been consider with aggression and relevant solution could be taken with subjected one.
Answer:
I don't consider corporal punishment relevant as it has a great negative impact on students. Students learn from their elders and if they are subjected to corporal punishment then they might also become violent in future considering their teachers also did the same. Another disadvantage of corporal punishment is that many a times it doesn't help a child to grow, rather he/she keeps on thinking that I am being punished so I may be inferior than others, this leads to depression and stress. As in the story also we see that the teacher's canes were also not able to make Baldev a good student but the sympathetic approach of the narrator yielded great results. So in my opinion all the students should be taught in the same manner by their teachers so that they grow to be a better human being in the future.
