Patil babu earned his living through many odd jobs like when he was young he used to perform the stage performances as he had great passion for the stage performances and in his youth he acted in many ka tras.there was a time when people used to buy tickets to see him.He worked as a clerk when he lived in Kanchrapara with Hudson and Kimberley.He struggled a lot to make a living.He worked as a insurance salesman.He had a job in railway factory as well.Later he shifted to Calcutta where he lost his job due to war.
The Second World War had resulted in Patol Babu being retrenched from his nine-year-old clerical job at Hudson and Kimberley.
Then he started variety shop but he failed.
He also worked in a bengali film but he faced some problem with the director so he left that film then his cousin offered him to join SCRAP-IRON business, thus tremendus ups and down came in his life.
