Located in the "Quirinale district of Rome", the "Trevi Fountain" and is known as one of the "most stunning fountains" in the world.
Explanation:
- In Rome in the 4th century it was one of 1352 springs, however the Trevi spring continues to stand out from the rest. The fountain goes back to the early Roman times, from the time the Aqua Virgo Aqueduct was constructed in 19 BC which supplied the Roman and central Rome fountains with water.
- It seems that Aqua Virgo is named in honour of a Roman young girl who brought thirsty soldiers to drink at the spring's source. At the end of the aqueduct, on the intersection of three paths, the fountain was constructed. These three streets (tre vie) give the fountain its name the Three Street Fountain.
- The Trevi Fountain is also the stage prop, a popular sight for visitors from across the globe! In addition the massive monument has been featured in several films, including "The Three Coins at the Waterfall", "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" and "Roman Holiday". Epcot in Walt Disney World also replicates the fountain!
