PDCA (plan–do–check–act or plan–do–check–adjust) Is an iterative four-step management method used in business for the control and continuous improvement of processes and products. It is also known as the Deming circle/cycle/wheel the Shewhart cycle.

Analyze and Define are not the stages of PDCA cycle.

  • Every organization lay special emphasis on improving the quality of their products and services.
  • Many quality management tools like graphic tools are used to improve product qualities on a continuous basis.
  • Deming's PDCA Cycle also called the Deming Wheel is the basis for implementing various total quality management tools.
  • The Deming wheel has four quadrants showing 4 stages of the cycle. These are Plan → Do → Check → Act.
