Cats are the kitten being compared to in the poem. William Wordsworth defined that about the kitten which is going for prey.

The poet told us to see the actions of a kitten before play. The kitten is playing on the wall like the falling leaves.  When the kitten is coming to pray, kitten runs fast and jump on her prey.
