- Cotton fabric is also facing competition with synthetic fibre since it is cheap and durable, thus capturing the market quickly.
- Lack of modernisation, use of old machineries and technologies are also declining the quality of the products and increasing the cost of production. Old cotton textile industries do not have much capital to invest for modernisation.
- Erratic power supply is also hampering the production in cotton mills.
