Larval stages of Porifera:

The species of the sponges are present in this Phylum Porifera. There are two stages of the life cycle of the sponges-polyp and medusa. The mature jellyfish has tentacles like structure in the body which is called medusa stage.

The sperm and the eggs are released from the body to the water and form the zygote. After multiple cell division of zygote formed it leads to free swimming and ciliated larval organisms which us called Planula.
