Jaundice is caused by an accumulation of bilirubin, which is the waste material, in our blood. An infected liver or blocked bile duct can commence jaundice, as well as other underlying diseases. The symptoms of jaundice include a yellow trace to the skin and whites of the eyes, darkened urine, and itchiness.

The responsibility during jaundice is to avoid the heavy dose of alcohol and should get the vaccination for hepatitis A, hepatitis B.  Medications should be taken to prevent malaria before visiting high-risk regions. Avoid high-risk practices such as intravenous medication usage or unsafe intercourse (hepatitis B).
