Dred Scott case, 1857; was an important part of the history of black slavery in America. Scott, an African American had been sold as a slave. However, to practice his basic rights as a citizen of America he petitioned for his freedom. His plea was overruled by the judiciary calling it "unconstitutional"

The Dred Scott Case was a proof of the racial discrimination in the government and judicial system of America. African- Americans in that era has only been slaves to the white people of America. They were denied the constitutional right to citizenship.

They were not allowed to interact or stand side by side to the white populace of thee country. They were denied access to education and other fundamental needs.
