Father of civil aviation in India, JRD Tata was buried at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France.
In India he was the one who got his flying license on Feb 10, 1929.
He died in Geneva, Switzerland due to kidney infection and even session of Indian parliament was cancelled in his memory although he was not a member of the parliament.

- JRD Tata was an Indian aviator, businessman, Tata Group Chairman and Tata Sons shareholder. His mother was the first woman to drive a car in India and he became India's first pilot to be certified in 1929. He is best known for his many Tata Group companies like Tata Consultancy, Tata Motors, Titan Companies, Tata Salt, Voltas and Air India.
- He was honored in the French Legion of Honor in 1983 and received the Padma Vibhushan and the Bharat Ratna in 1955 and 1992, the two highest civilian prizes in India. He won these honors for his services to the Indian industry JRD Tata died on 29 November 1993 at the age of 89 years in Geneva, Switzerland. The Indian Parliament was postponed in his memory after his death – an honor usually not granted to people who are not parliamentarians. He was buried in the cemetery of Père Lachaise in Paris
