Cellulose can be digested by animals like cows but not by humans . The reason being that animals have an organ called caecum with a bacteria e. coli which digests cellulose but humans do not have that organ so we can't digest cellulose.

Cellulose is a carbohydrate which makes up the walls of plant cells. The cellulose in food is known as dietary fibre. We humans cannot digest fibre but it helps to move food along the intestines. It is found in foods such as wholemeal bread, fruits and vegetables.
